Passionflower is a flowering plant most commonly used for its calming effects. It may act as a sedative that aids in sleeping, lowering anxiety, and reducing nervous tension and muscle spasms. Additionally, it is rich in the antioxidant compounds vitexin, isovitexin, kaempferol, quercetin, rutin, apigenin and luteolin glycosides, which fight cellular damage by free radicals.
